We want to live on a fishing/boating lake near a small city that has a quaint downtown area, good schools/athletics, decent restaurants and lots of character. We prefer the great plains or south. Where is this place?

Like the effects to the ecosystem, the population of fish, recreation, food source?

I just bought a 16″ flat bottom Johnboat with a 40hp and I want to get on the Mo. river. I live 20 min. from a boat ramp to get into it but, I dont know anything about river fishing. If someone could give me some info and direct me to where I can find a river map I would be very thankfull.

i fish in freshwater, lakes, ponds, rivers, up in the Sierra Nevada mountains. so i don’t need to know about the ocean tides or anything.
